A Note From Your Editors
We fear that we’re becoming homogeneous blobs.
There’s an early episode of Mad Men where Roger Sterling says (something along the lines of) “CLIENTS DON’T COME TO US BECAUSE THEY LIKE US. THEY COME BECAUSE THEY WANT DON DRAPER.” and it got us thinking about how creatives and strategists are morphing into one faceless, unrecognisable mass.
Creatives and strategists aren’t names anymore. You used to know the thinking firepower behind the work. We had specialisms and niches, an allure where clients would flock to agencies in the hope they would get an individual perspective on their brief. Not to blame everything on AI but...AI.
The rise and rise of AI means we’re now in the volume era of advertising, where breadth supposedly trumps depth, pushing the industry to deliver more, faster, and more efficiently. Overlooking the ‘magic’ that breeds great ideas- real life human experiences and individual perspectives. This, combined with client red tape and short turnarounds, has added up to create a sea of sameness.
Bornhub is our way of un-blobbing. It’s our antidote to homogeny.
We are home to some great big thinkers, who’ve worked in many different agencies across a variety of sectors and specialisms. Yet, we collectively agree that the creative and strategic brains at Born are something special. But we aren’t just ‘Born’. We are Keith, Saff, Bronte, and Judy. We are also Matt, Sam, Will, KD (the list goes on). You could give us all the same brief and we are each going to take it in different directions. Because our vocations are personal, impactful change comes around when our inspirations, perspectives, anecdotes, and style are given a platform to shine.
So this isn’t Born. This is BornHub - a chance for us creatives and strategists to express ourselves and show you what really gets us going. Showing off our passions that we bring to the table each day. Spicy thoughts from juicy brains.
This isn’t an agency dumping ground. No LinkedIn cringe. No case studies. And despite our name, no x-rated material. What you will find is insightful cultural commentary where we intellectualise the obscure. You’ll find our individuality and leadership done differently, lighting the flames for the comeback of taste.
Not a homogeneous blob in sight.
